Ms. King is Founder and CEO of Elucent Medial, a company that has developed a medical device to locate breast tumors in surgery while concurrently eliminating a painful and expensive wire localization procedure from breast cancer treatment.
Prior to Elucent, Ms. King led NeuWave Medical, a Madison, WI based start-up that developed and commercialized a device to ablate cancer tumors in liver, kidney, lung and bone. Ms. King led NeuWave Medical for seven years, successfully raising $33 M in venture capital and doubling revenue each year. NeuWave had a very successfully exit, selling to JnJ Ethicon in 2016. Prior to joining the start-up world, Ms. King was a GE company officer while leading the $1.2 B Global Interventional Cardiology and Surgery business. Raised in San Francisco, CA, she is a graduate of UC Davis in Economics.
Mr. Johnson is a nearly 30-year veteran of medical device R&D and product development. Having begun his career designing infusion pumps with start-up Deltec Systems, he eventually led the entire diabetes division, bringing in revenues exceeding $40 million in the first year, and navigated mergers and acquisitions by Smiths Industries and Pharmacia. Mr. Johnson moved on to serve as Vice President of R&D for Data Sciences International, establishing a strategy that resulted in rapid and predictable delivery of new products to the market, notably an implantable ECG monitoring platform. Most recently, Mr. Johnson built and managed R&D teams as Vice President of R&D for SuperDimension (acquired by Covidien in 2012 for $350 million), commercializing a novel electromagnetic navigation platform to diagnose and treat early-stage lung cancer.
Mr. Johnson has extensive leadership and engineering experience in the launch of over 30 medical devices with worldwide distribution and holds more than 20 patents. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with honors from the University of Minnesota.
Ms. Kridner joined Elucent Medical in June of 2016 as the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance. Prior to Elucent, Ms. Kridner had over thirty years of regulatory, quality and clinical leadership in medical device companies, such as Edwards Life Sciences, Medtronic and St. Jude Medical. She has proven success with the FDA and international regulatory agencies, both in the areas of regulatory approvals, clinical studies, regulatory compliance and quality systems.
In her career, Ms. Kridner has provided strategic guidance and management for over twenty 510(k)s, seven PMAs and fifteen clinical studies. Ms. Kridner has served for the past 10 years on the St. Cloud State University of Minnesota Advisory Board for Masters Degrees in Regulatory, Clinical or Quality. Raised in Orange County, CA, she is a graduate of California State University Fullerton in Biology.
Ms. Sands is Chief Commercial Officer for Elucent Medical joining the company in January 2017. As the Chief Commercial Officer, she will work closely with leading physicians to collaborate on development, and implement the Elucent Solution. Prior to joining the Elucent team, Ms. Sands was VP of Strategic Initiatives at NeuWave Medical; Ethicon a Johnson and Johnson family company where Ms. Sands drove physician engagement around innovative new medical products and procedures.
Ms. Sands has built extensive relationships with leading Academic institutions, and Cancer Centers through partnering with physicians. Prior to jumping into the start-up arena, Ms. Sands was employed at GE / Datex-Ohmeda for over seventeen years, where she received GE’s Woman of Distinction award for her contributions in executing new innovations across the patient care continuum. Raised in Colorado Springs, CO, she is a graduate of U of Phoenix in Healthcare Economics.
